HDFC Bank: Keep Walking!

HDFC Bank Ltd. is an Indian Banking and Financial Services company headquartered in Mumbai, Maharashtra. India’s largest private sector lender by Assets – HDFC Bank has 5326 branches (50% of Branches are in Semi-rural and Rural Areas), 14996 ATMs spread across 2825 cities in the country. The Bank employs 115822 people as of 30 June 2020. Total Balance Sheet size as of 30 June 2020, was INR 1,545,103 crore as against INR 1,265,253 crore as of June 30, 2019 – a growth of 22.1%.

HDFC Bank is a new-generation Private Sector Bank providing a wide range of banking services covering commercial, investment banking, and treasury services on the wholesale side, and transactional/branch banking and consumer banking on the retail side. The Bank owns two subsidiaries namely HDFC Securities Ltd and HDB Financial Services Ltd.

The Market Capitalization of the Bank is INR 6.2 Trillion (As on 20th July 2020). HDFC Bank reported Net income of INR 272.9 Billion in FY 2020 vs 223.32 billion for FY 2019 with Y-O-Y growth of about 22%.

For Q1 FY2021 it has reported Net Income of INR 69.27 Billion as compared to INR 56.75 for Q1 FY 2020 with a Growth of 22% YOY.  The Gross and Net NPA for the quarter stood at 1.36% and 0.33% (% of Total Advances). The Advances Book grew by 19.6% Y-O-Y and the Net Interest Margin was about 4.3%.
