Due to the effective and consistent Research and Development carried out by Motorola, the company had a distinct edge in technology. The Market Capitalization of Motorola at the time was $500 million.
Philip Fischer held firm to his investment in Motorola earning 20 times on the capital invested until his death in 2004.
